Airless Systems

Airless Systems Ltd

Airless Systems Ltd’s principal activities are the design and manufacture of internationally patented Drying, Torrefaction and Carbonisation systems including rotary, drum, batch, continuous batch, and kilns. 'Patented' Airless Technology has a major beneficial impact on the environment as well as the following advantages:

  • Reduced drying times
  • Improved product quality
  • Higher throughput, smaller plant, significant capital and operating cost savings
  • Energy consumption between 50% & 90% lower
  • Virtual elimination of noxious emissions, reduced anti-pollution costs
  • Not needing a large hot air exhaust stack
  • Potential for energy recovery from the drying process
  • The system can use waste heat sources from the gasification/pyrolysis process for drying
  • Airless technology uses significantly less energy than conventional indirect drying
  • Cost effective re-use of the energy
  • Higher IRR (payback of investment) than conventional hot air drying

Airless Processing

Some organic or partly-organic materials to which airless processing can usefully be applied to torrefy or carbonise them (following airless drying if necessary) while generating usefully combustible pyrolysis gases and recovering for sale either torrefied or carbonized organic material and the metals and inorganic chemicals present in some wastes include:

  • Timber, wood waste and sawdust
  • Grass and straw
  • Municipal solid waste (MSW)
  • Rubber waste and tyre waste
  • Crushed vehicle frag waste
  • Vehicle oil filters and canisters
  • Fisheries waste
  • Meat and bone meal
  • Sewage sludge
  • Paper sludge
  • Industrial sludges
  • MDF and chipboard
  • Scrap insulated electrical wire
  • Fruit plantation waste
  • Bagasse (sugar cane waste)
